Featured Cruise Line: Silversea Cruises

In 1994, Silversea Cruises set a course of pampered luxury with the launching of the 296-passenger sister ships Silver Cloud and Silver Wind. Targeting the ultra luxury segment of cruising, the company hired experienced European staff and chartered an exotic course of itineraries. While yacht-like, all-suite luxury ships already had their place, Silversea upped the stakes by adding private verandas to 75% of all staterooms and made the experience as all-inclusive as it gets today. Silver Cloud and Silver Wind were so successful that the line built the larger, 28,000-ton 388-passenger Silver Shadow, which entered service in September 2000. She was followed by Silver Whisper in July, 2001. On Silver Shadow and Whisper, a standard cabin with private balcony is 360 sq. feet (vs. 295 on the existing ships), with most of the added space going into bathrooms and closets. Silversea recently introduced a series of Silversea Expeditions, allowing Luxury clients to experience destinations off the beaten path. Silversea guests can now explore the far corners of the earth while living in luxury accommodations. more

The ship's Royal Promenade has shops and eateries on each side, and many interior staterooms have windows offering a view of the Royal Promenade. The Royal Promenade has, a coffee shop, Sorrento's Pizzeria, a Ben and Jerry's ice-cream shop, Vintage's winery, the Bull and Bear Irish pub, and several Duty-free stores. The ship has an interactive water park, a dedicated adult pool and a main pool. Other items include an ice skating rink, a casino, a Johnny Rockets restaurant and there is Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the ship. more

Featured Destination: Caribbean-Extended

An Extended Caribbean Cruise is a combination of an Eastern Caribbean Cruise with a Western Caribbean Cruise. These cruises often attract an older and more experienced traveler who enjoys a longer cruise experience. Extended Caribbean Cruises are usually 10-nights or longer and sail from November to April. They often visit 5 or more of these ports: Cruise Line Private Islands; Jamaica; Key West, Florida; St. Maarten; St. Croix; Grand Cayman; St. Thomas; Cozumel, Mexico; Puerto Rico and The Bahamas. Because an Extended Caribbean Cruise is a combination of Eastern and Western Itineraries, you will find a wide range of activities including snorkeling, beaches, hiking, shopping and cultural tours. Once back on the ship cruisers can enjoy the relaxation of the shipboard experience as well as many shipboard activities such as theatrical shows, musical concerts, cultural speakers and much more while spending many days at sea. more
